آپ کی اور میرے درمیان اسی معاشرے کے اندر کئی لوگ ایسے ہیں جو بولنا چاہتے ہیں۔ مگر ان کو سننے والا کوئی نہیں۔ کئی لوگ ایسے ہیں جو کسی کے چھاؤں میں بیٹھ کے رونا چاہتے ہیں۔ لیکن چھاؤں میسر نہیں۔ یہ کردار آپ کے اور میرے ہی معاشرے میں بستا ہے بہت کم ہی صحیح لیکن بستا ہے۔ جہاں اس کردار کو معاشرے میں اہمیت نہیں دی گئی۔ جس طرح اس کردار کو معاشرے کے باقی طبقوں نے پس پشت ڈالا۔ وہیں ادب نے بھی اس کردار پر کوئی خاصی روشنی نہیں ڈالی۔
یہ کردار میں بھی ہو سکتا ہوں۔ یہ کردار آپ بھی ہو سکتے ہیں۔ یہ کردار اپ کے گھر میں ہی رہنے والا اپ کا کوئی چھوٹا بھائی بڑا بھائی بہن بھی ہو سکتا ہے۔ جن کو معاشرا دبا دیتا ہے۔ بے وجہ کی پابندیوں سے۔ جو انزائڈی اور ڈپریشن جیسے امراض کا بڑی ہی چھوٹی سی عمر میں شکار ہو جاتے ہیں۔ ان کرداروں پہ کون روشنی ڈالے گا؟ کوئی تو ہو جو ان کے جذبات کو سمجھتا ہو۔ اور ان کرداروں پر روشنی ڈالنی کہ جسارت کرے۔
ہمارے ہاں ہر ماہ کئی ناول لکھے جاتے ہیں مگر وہی رومانوی موضوعات پر۔ جہاں میں نے اس ناول کے ذریعے معاشرے کے اس کردار پر روشنی ڈالنے کی کوشش کی ہے جسے پش سے پش ڈالا گیا ہے۔
