“حازم باہر گیا ہوا ہے اور بھابھی اپنے کمرے مین پڑھ رہی ہیں”…علی نے سادگی سے جواب دیا بہروز کھڑا ہوا کوٹ اپنے بازو پر ڈالتا اس کے کمرے کے پاس رک کر اونچی آواز میں بولا…

“حازم کو بولو جلدی گھر آئے نوکر نہیں لگے ہوئے گھر میں کہ میرے سامنے کھانا سجا کر رکھیں”…بہروز کے اونچی آواز میں بولنے پر علی نے ناسمجھی سے اسے دیکھا وہئی رابعہ نے چونک کر اس کی بات سنی پھر کتابیں بند کرکے سائیڈ پر رکھی اور ڈوپٹہ صیح کرتی باہر آئی.

“میں فریش ہوکر آرہا ہوں جلدی سے کھانا لگاؤ”…وہ علی کو دیکھتا بولا اور رابعہ کو نظرانداز کرتا اپنے کمرے کی طرف بڑا…

“لگتا ہی نہیں میری شادی ہوئی کتنا سنا تھا دوستوں سے بیویاں شوہر کے آفس سے آنے پر پانی کا گلاس دیتی ہیں کھانا لگاتی ہے چائے پوچھتی ہیں،لیکن یہاں؟یہاں تو پانی بھی علی کی فضول شکل کے ساتھ ملتا ہے کھانا چائے تو دور کی بات”…بہروز الماری سے کپڑے نکالتے خود سے شکوہ کررہا تھا…کچھ دیر میں فریش ہوکر باہر آیا اور ڈائینگ ٹیبل کی چیئر کھسکا کر بیٹھا ساتھ بیٹھے حازم کے سلام کا سر ہلاکر جواب دیا..

“کس نے بنایا ہے کھانا؟”…ایک بائٹ لیتے بہروز نے پوچھا…

“میں نے”…حازم بولا…

“اور آپ؟کیا کررہی تھی؟”…بہروز کھانے سے ہاتھ روک کر بولا رابعہ نے بھی اسے اپنی طرف متوجہ دیکھا تو بولی…

“پڑھ رہی تھی”…

“کیوں؟یہ اسکول ہے؟”…بہروز نے طنزیا انداز بھی سوال کیا…

“نہی…نہیں”…رابعہ نے جلدی سے کہا…

“تو پھر؟سنو میڈم یہ آپ کے ڈیڈ کا الیشان محل نہیں ہے جہاں نوکروں کی فوج موجود ہوگی-یہ میرا گھر ہے یہاں سارے کام تمہیں خود کرنے ہیں سمجھی؟میرے بھائی بہت کام کرچکے ہیں لیکن وہ پھر بھی تمہارا ہاتھ بٹادیں گیں لیکن کل سے صبح کا ناشتہ اور رات کا کھانا تمہارے زمے سمجھی؟”…بہروز لہجے میں سنجیدگی اور چہرہ پر سختی لیئے بولا…

“بھائی کوئی بات نہیں ہم نے ہی منع کیا تھا”…حازم آہستہ سے بولا رابعہ کی نم آنکھیں دیکھ کر… “تم خاموش رہو-!..اور تم بیٹھی کیا ہو؟جاؤ اور اوملیٹ بناکر لاؤ میرے لیئے”…وہ سختی سے بولا رابعہ جلدی سے اٹھ کر کچن کی طرف بڑی…
