“زخم کیسا ہے؟”حدید کے سوال دہرانے پر اُس نے سر جھکا کر اپنی ہتھیلی دیکھی،
“ہاتھ کا زخم تو بہتر ہے۔”
مدھم آواز میں بتاتی وہ آخر میں کچھ جتائی تھی جس پر دوسری جانب ایک پل کو خاموشی چھائی،
“لطیف نے بتایا کہ کل رات تم چلی گئی تھی۔”لہجے کو لاپرواہ بنائے وہ ایسے بول رہا تھا جیسے دونوں میں کافی بےتکلفی ہے،مُطربہ نے اب صرف “جی” کہنے پر ہی اکتفا کیا پر تبھی حدید کی گھمبیر آواز اس کے کانوں سے ٹکرائی،
“تم نے تو کہا تھا کہ نہیں جاؤ گی چھوڑ کر؟”
ناجانے کیوں آج وہ اُسے حیران کرنے پر تُلا تھا،مُطربہ کو اچھنبا ہوا کہ بظاہر بےنیاز دِکھنے والا حدید اسماعیل اس کی باتوں کو یاد بھی رکھتا تھا،آج مقابل کا اس قدر بدلا ہوا انداز سانسیں ناہموار کر رہا تھا تبھی آہستگی سے کھڑی ہوتی مُطربہ نرمی سے کہنے لگی،
“میں اپنی بات پر قائم ہوں۔۔چھوڑا نہیں ہے آپ کو۔۔گھر پر اس لیے آئی تھی کیونکہ بابا کے پیر پر گولی لگی ہے۔”کھڑکی کی جانب آکر کہتی وہ آخر میں حدید کو بتائی مگر مقابل شاید اپنی ہی سوچوں میں گُم تھا جو بےساختگی میں بول گیا،
“پھر بھی۔۔چلی تو گئی ناں۔”
وہ حظ اُڑانا چاہا تھا اس کے کیے گئے دعویٰ کا لیکن زخمی لہجہ اندر کی چُبھن واضح کو کر رہا تھا،کچھ پل کی خاموشی کے بعد مُطربہ نے ہلکی آواز میں پوچھا،
“آپ چاہتے ہیں کہ میں واپس آجاؤں؟”
سوال پر حدید چپ ہو کر رہ گیا،مُطربہ نے انتظار کیا اس کے بولنے کا اور تبھی گہری خاموشی کا دورانیہ طویل ہونے پر وہ بہت دھیمی آواز میں استفسار کیا،
“میرے کہنے پر آجاؤ گی؟”
انداز چیلینج دینے والا تھا،
“آپ آزما کر دیکھ لیں۔”مُطربہ کے لہجے کا یقین اسے لاجواب کرنے کو کافی تھا،اچانک کال کٹ کر کے وہ موبائل ٹیبل پر رکھ دیا پھر دائیں ہاتھ سے گردن مسلتا راکنگ چئیر سے ٹیک لگایا،اس وقت اپنی بےاختیاری پر خود حیرت ہوئی کہ کیسے اس لڑکی سے کال پر بات کرچکا تھا وہ،
