تیز سپیڈ میں آتی کار کو دیکھ کر لڑکی اپنے منہ پر ہاتھ رکھ کر نیچے بیٹھی رہی تبھی اچانک کسی کی غصیلی آواز پر اس نے سر اٹھا کر دیکھا تو فورا چونک اٹھی۔
“عجیب لڑکی ہیں آپ!! اگر مرنے کا اتنا ہی شوق ہے تو کسی اور کی گاڑی کے نیچے آکر مرتیں۔۔۔ پولیس والے کی کار کے نیچے آکر مرنا ضروری تھا۔۔۔ آپ بھلے ہی نہ مرتی میری تو نوکری چلی جانی تھی۔۔۔ جس سے میرے بچوں نے تو بھوکے پیٹ مر جانا تھا۔۔۔” ڈرائیور عجیب لڑاکا عورتوں کی طرح اس سے تیز لہجے میں بات کرنے لگا۔۔
وہ ابھی اسے کچھ کہنے ہی والی تھی کہ تب تک پولیس وردی میں ملبوس وہی شخص اس کے سامنے آیا جس پر وہ اس دن رشوت لینے کا الزام لگا رہی تھی۔
وہ یک ٹک نگاہوں سے اسے ہی بغور دیکھ رہا تھا۔۔
وہ اس کی آنکھوں میں تیزی سے آتی نمی کو بھی فورا محسوس کر چکا تھا جسے اس لڑکی نے جلدی سے بائیں ہاتھ کی پشت سے رگڑ کر صاف کیا تھا۔
“تمیز سے بات کرو شفیق۔۔۔! کیا پتا انکی طبیعت خراب ہو!!”
ایس پی عثمان نے اپنے ڈرائیور کو اس کی بدتمیزی پر سختی سے ٹوک دیا اور خود نیچے جھک کر اس کے فائل کے کاغذ نیچے سے اٹھانے لگا ۔۔جو وہ بے چینی میں جلدی جلدی اٹھا رہی تھی۔۔ جب وہ سارے کاغذ اٹھا چکی تو نیچے گرا پرس اٹھاتی وہاں سے جانے کے لیے آگے بڑھ گئ۔ مگر پھر ایک دم رک کر پیچھے مڑ کر دیکھنے لگی۔۔
” ایم سوری ۔۔۔”فاطمہ نے جلدی سے معذرت کی اور پھر روڈ کراس کر کے اندر جاتی گلیوں میں چلی گئی۔
عثمان کی نگاہوں نے دور تک اس کا پیچھا کیا تھا۔ اور پھر کچھ دیر بعد وہ واپس آکر کار میں بیٹھ گیا ۔

زینی اذلان کی کار کو پہچانتی تھی اس لئے پارکنگ لاٹ میں آتے ہی اس کے ساتھ ٹیک لگا کر کھڑی ہو گئی۔آنکھوں کو نیچے جھکاتے ہی اس کے اشک روانی سے بہنے لگے تھے۔۔۔۔۔
آس پاس کوئی نہیں تھا اس لئے وہ اپنے آنسوؤں کو صاف کرنے کی بھی زحمت نہیں کر رہی تھی۔کچھ ہی منٹوں کے بعد اسے اپنے ذہن کے پردے پر کچھ دیر پہلے کا منظر کسی شفاف آئینے میں نظر آتے عکس کی طرح نظر آنے لگا تھا۔
زینب اور فاطمہ شمسہ سے ملنے کیلئے میرج ہال سے سیدھا برائیڈل روم میں چلی گئی تھیں۔وہاں کچھ دیر ادھر ادھر کی باتیں کرنے کے بعد زینب مریم کی ہمراہی میں برائیڈل روم سے باہر آ ہی رہی تھی کہ اچانک اس کی نگاہیں داخلی دروازے کی طرف اٹھ گئیں۔۔
سامنے سے آتے ابراہیم آفندی اور سارہ بیگم کو دیکھتے اس کی دھڑکنیں بےاختیار منتشرپن کا شکار ہو چکی تھیں۔اپنے والدین کو اتنے دنوں بعد سامنے دیکھ کر اس کی خوشی کا کوئی ٹھکانہ نہیں رہا تھا۔
“مریم ۔۔!آپ جاؤ۔۔میں ابھی تھوڑی دیر میں آتی ہوں۔۔”مریم کے اثبات میں سر ہلاتے ہی وہ لمبے لمبے ڈگ بھرتی داخلی دروازے کے قریب پہنچ گئی۔امجد اور شازیہ بیگم بھی ان کے ساتھ ہی تھے۔ان سب کی دوستی کالج کے وقت سے لیکر ابھی تک قائم تھی۔
زینی کے قریب پہنچنے سے پہلے ہی انسپیکٹر ماریہ وہاں آئی اور پھر ان سب کو سلام کرنے کے بعد امجد اور شازیہ بیگم کو جلدبازی میں اپنے ساتھ لے گئی کیونکہ اسے ایک کولیگ کو اپنے پیرنٹس سے ملوانے کا وعدہ پورا کرنا تھا۔۔۔۔۔۔۔۔
“بابا۔۔ماما۔۔آپ یہاں۔۔؟؟”زینی خوشی کے مارے چہک اٹھی تھی۔۔وہ گرمجوش انداز میں آگے بڑھی اور پھر اپنی بانہیں وا کیے سارہ بیگم کے سینے سے لگ گئی۔
زینی کو اتنے مہینوں بعد سامنے دیکھ کر سارہ بیگم اور ابراہیم صاحب اپنی آنکھوں کو نم ہونے سے روک نہیں پائے تھے۔۔ ابراہیم صاحب کو جیسے ہی داؤد آفندی کا چہرہ یاد آیا۔۔ان کے تاثرات یکسر تبدیل ہوتے سنجیدگی کا روپ دھار گئے۔
“سارہ۔۔!جلدی چلیں یہاں سے۔۔ہم اندر نہیں جا رہے۔۔”زینی کو اپنی طرف قدم بڑھاتے دیکھ ابراہیم صاحب نے تقریباً خشک لہجے میں سارہ بیگم کو مخاطب کرتے اپنی طرف متوجہ کیا۔ابراہیم صاحب کے انداز پر زینی کا پورا وجود ساکت پڑ گیا۔
زینی کے حیرت بھرے تاثرات کو دیکھتے سارہ بیگم بھی غیر محسوس انداز میں اپنی آنکھوں کی نمی کو ہتھیلیوں سے صاف کرنے لگی تھیں۔ “بابا۔۔پلیز آ ۔آ۔آپ۔۔”زینی کے حلق سے بمشکل سسکی نما آواز برآمد ہوئی تھی۔اس کے کئی آنسو بےمول ہوتے گالوں پر بہنے لگے۔
