“آغا جان !مجھے آپ کی بات کا بہت پاس ہے۔مگر جو آپ کہہ رہے ہیں وہ میرے لئے ناقابلِ قبول ہے۔نہ آج ،نہ کبھی آئندہ۔۔۔یہ ناممکن ہے!“ آغا ولی خان کی بات سن کر اس نے صاف لفظوں میں انکار کر دیا تھا۔وہ ان کی بات پر حیران تھا۔اور حیران ہونے سے زیادہ غصہ تھا۔ایسی بات وہ سوچ بھی کیسے سکتے ہیں۔وہ ہوش میں تو تھے۔یہ تو وہ جانتا تھا کہ اس حویلی کی ریت کے مطابق۔۔۔کسی عورت کا بیاہ خاندان سے باہر نہیں ہونا تھا۔پھر چاہے وہ چودہ سالہ بچی ہو یا چالیس سالہ عورت!اسے رہنا اسی گھرانے میں تھا۔اپنی ذات کی نفی کر کے اس خاندان کی جائیداد کو محفوظ رکھنا تھا۔وہاج حیدر خان کے لئے یہ سب ناقابلِ قبول تھا مگر وہ کر کچھ نہیں سکتا تھا۔اس نے عزم کیا تھا کہ وہ اس گھٹیا رواج کو ختم کر کے ہی دم لے گا۔اپنی اتنے سال کی تعلیم کی یوں ضائع نہیں ہونے دے گا۔مگر وہ تو۔۔۔آج پہلی ہی سیڑھی پر منہ کے بل گِر پڑا تھا۔ اس کی اپنی ذات سے ایک کمسن لڑکی کو قیدکرنے کا سوچا جا رہاتھا۔اور لڑکی بھی وہ جو اسے خود سے بڑھ کر عزیز تھی۔کیا وہ خود سے بارہ سالہ چھوٹی لڑکی کو اپنے حقوق کا پابند کر کے اس کی خوشیاں اس سے چھین سکتا تھا؟ نہیں! بالکل نہیں۔۔بات کچھ قابلِ قبول ہوتی بھی اگر وہ لڑکی ہانیہ حیدر خان نہ ہوتی تو! اسی لئے وہ آغا جان کو صاف صاف انکار کر کے چلا آیا تھا۔

وہاج حیدر خان کی زندگی کے پیمانے بہت وسیع تھے مگر ان سب سے پہلے اگر کسی کی اہمیت تھی تو ”ہانیہ حیدر خان“ کی تھی۔وہ اس کے چچا کی بیٹی تھی۔اسے یاد تھا وہ ایک سنہرا دن تھا جب سکول سے آکر اس نے حویلی میں ہلچل محسوس کی اور اس ننھی سفید گلاب سے پری کو دیکھ کر اس کے اندر تک ایک سکون کی لہر دوڑ گئ۔اسے دیکھ اسے خوشی محسوس ہوتی تھی۔سکون محسوس ہوتا تھا۔وہ اسے اپنی روح کا حصہ معلوم ہوتی تھی۔بچپن سے اب تک وہ اس کے لاڈ اٹھاتا آیا تھا۔وہ ”وہاج بھائی“ کہتی نہ تھکتی تھی۔اس کی فرمائشیں پوری کرنا اس پر فرض تھا جیسے۔اس کے چہرے پہ مسکراہٹ لانا اس کا مقصد تھا مگر آج۔۔۔۔آج اس نے اس کی آنکھوں سے سارے خواب، ساری خوشیاں نوچ ڈالی تھیں۔وہ ایسا کبھی نہیں چاہتا تھا۔کبھی بھی نہیں۔مگر آغا جان کے کھیل کے آگے وہ کچھ نہیں کر سکتا تھا۔ چچی ماں کے آنسوٶں نے اسے بےبس کر دیاتھا۔آغا جان نے اس کے سامنے دو آپشن رکھے تھے۔۔عبداللہ خان اور احمد خان ! اسے ہانیہ کے لئے کسی ایک کا انتخاب کرنا تھا۔عبداللہ خان ان کے پھپھو ماں کے سسرال کا ایک فرد تھا۔اسے فرد سے زیادہ بزرگ کہنا ٹھیک تھا۔وہ عمر کے آخری حصے میں تھا۔وہ ہانیہ کو دیکھے کنویں میں نہیں دھکیل سکتا تھا۔اور احمد خان۔۔وہ اس کے چھوٹے چچا کا بیٹا تھا۔دو سالہ بیٹا! انہوں نے بہت سوچ سمجھ کر اس کے سامنے سوال رکھا تھا۔وہ اس سے ہارنے والے نہیں تھے۔اور وہ ہارے نہیں تھے۔ہانیہ حیدر خان اسی رات ہانیہ وہاج حیدر بن گئی تھی۔
