‘ اوہ کھڑوس پولیس والے کو برا لگ گیا ۔ ‘ دل میں سوچتی وہ واپس نگاہیں نیچے کر گئی اور ٹی بیگ اٹھاتی پانی ڈالنے ہی لگی تھی کہ اس نے نیچے سے کپ اٹھایا اور گرم گرم پانی دوسری طرف بنے سنگ میں بہا دیا ۔

” یہ کیا کیا ؟ ” ادا دیکھتی رہ گئی ۔ اب یہ کیوں پھینک دیا ۔۔ اس کے ہاتھ سے کپ لیتی اب وہ اسے سوالیہ نظروں سے گھور رہی تھی ۔

” تم نے مجھے سچ میں بیوقوف اور فارغ سمھجہ لیا ہے ۔ ” وہ ایک قدم مزید آگے ہوا تو ادا ناسمجھی سے اس سے ایک قدم دور ہوئی ۔

” اب میری بات غور سے سنو ۔۔۔ ” وہ پیچھے سلپ سے لگ چکی تھی اور ماتھے پر بل نمایا تھے ۔ ناجانے وہ کیا کہہ رہا تھا ۔۔

” اگر تمہیں مجھ پر ذرا بھی بھروسہ ہے ۔ اتنی ملاقاتوں کے بعد میری بات کا ذرا بھی مان ہے تو فکس پانچ بجے تیار رہنا ۔ ” کبیر کی آواز میں اچانک پہاڑوں سی سختی امڈ آئی تھی ۔ وہ اسے غصے میں لگ رہا تھا ۔

” یاد رہے ایک بار بیل بجے گی اور صرف گیارہ منٹ انتظار کروں گا ۔۔ صرف گیارہ منٹ ! ” وہ جو جھکے ہوئے بول رہا تھا پیچھے ہوتا ہوا کچن کی دہلیز سے اتر گیا پھر دروازے کی جانب دیکھتے ہوئے اپنا سیاہ چشمہ لگایا ۔ اور ایک نظر اسے دیکھا جو اب تک سلپ سے لگی ہوئی تھی۔

” اب اگر پانچ بجے سے پہلے گھر کی بیل بجے تو دروازے تک جا کہ دیکھنا پہلے ۔۔ ہوں ہی ہر کوئی اندر آنے لائق نہیں ہوتا پھر چاہے تم بلیک بیلٹ ہولڈر ہی کیوں نہ ہو ۔” سپاٹ لہجے میں کہتے وہ چلتا گیا یہاں تک کہ بیرونی دروازہ کھلا کر بند بھی ہوگیا ۔ ادا نے سانس خارج کی اور ہاتھ باندھتی بھاپ اڑاتے کپ کو دیکھنے لگی ۔

دھواں لمحہ بہ لمحہ تیزی سے نکل رہا تھا ۔ اس ہی دھویں میں اس کے کہے الفاظ اڑتے محسوس ہوئے ۔
