“وہ ایک انا پرست مرد ہے۔ وہ مرد جو عورت کو پائوں کی جوتی سمجھتا ہے۔

نائلہ نے اسے دیکھتے ہوئے کہا۔
“بغیر عزت کے محبت ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔مجھے گوارا نہیں تھی۔”
وہ آج بھی اپنے مؤقف پر ڈٹی ہوئی تھی۔
“محبت ہوتی تو جب جی چاہے مجھے مارتا پیٹتا نہیں۔ اور محبت ہوتی تو میری کمی کو دنیا کے سامنے بڑھا چڑھا کر پیش نا کرتا۔ اسے محبت ہوتی تو میرا ہمدرد ہوتا نا کہ میرے درد کی وجہ بنتا۔”
وہ ہٹ کر چلتی ہوئی کرسی پر آ بیٹھی اور نائلہ نے بھی اس کی تقلید کی۔
“اسے مجھ سے محبت ہوگی، مگر ایسی محبت کا کیا نائلہ جس میں وہ مجھے اپنی عزت سمجھنے کی بجائے سرِ محفل میری توہین کرتا اور اکیلے میں معافی مانگتا۔”۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ ۔ مگر اب ان باتوں کا کوئی فایدہ نہیں۔ اللہ کا شکر ہے میں اپنی زندگی سے خوش ہوں۔”
“تم نے شادی نہیں کی؟
کیا تم آج بھی اسے دل سے نہیں نکال پائی؟”
عائشہ نے خالی ہتھیلیوں کو دیکھتے ہوئے نرم لہجے میں کہا۔
“وہ میرا ماضی تھا نائلہ وہ ماضی جسے میں کبھی یاد نا کرنا چاہوں۔ میں جس ٹراما سے گزری ہوں وہ میں جانتی ہوں۔ اور وہ ٹراما میں پھر سے جھیلنے کی تو دور اس کے بارے میں سوچنے کی بھی خواہاں نہیں۔
اپنی بات مکمل کر کے وہ اٹھی اور کمرے کی جانب بڑھی لیکن پھر نظر سیڑھیوں پر کھڑے کاشان پر جا ٹھہری۔
