وہ دونوں جو ایک دوسرے کو نظر انداز کیے بیٹھے تھے اس کی غصیلی آواز سن کر سرعت سے گاڑی سے باہر نکلے اور اس کے پاس آ کھڑے ہوئے۔ وہ تینوں سڑک کے کنارے
یوں کھڑے تھے کہ ایک طرف غازان اور دوسری طرف سعد کھڑا تھا اور ان کے درمیان روشانے ماتھے پر بل ڈالے کھڑی تھی۔
“اب بتاؤ کیا ہوا ہے؟” اس کے پوچھنے پر بھی جواب ندارد۔
“فار گاڈ سیک کچھ بولو بھی کیا ہوا ہے آخر؟ کیوں اس طرح بی ہیو کر رہے ہو؟” اب کی بار ان کی خاموشی سے وہ چڑ کر بولی۔
“تمہارے شوہر کو میرا کردار اور نیت خراب لگ رہی ہے اس لیے ان صاحب کا کہنا ہے کہ میں تم سے دور رہوں۔” سعد نے سپاٹ لہجے میں بتایا۔ روشانے کی بے اختیار نظر غازان کی طرف اٹھی جو اس کی بات کو کہیں اور لے جانے پر منہ کھولے اسے دیکھ رہا تھا۔
“بکواس بند کرو اپنی۔ میں نے ایسا کچھ نہیں کہا، بات کو الٹی طرف لے کر کیوں جا رہے ہو؟ میں منہ توڑ دوں گا تمہارا۔” اس نے سعد کو خونخوار نگاہوں سے گھورتے ہوئے ہاتھ کا مکا بنا کر دکھاتے ہوئے کہا۔
“چار پانچ سال تک کتوں کی طرح اس کی ہر کال اور میسج پر دم ہلاتے ہوئے اس کی ہر خواہش پوری کی ہے اور اب اسے میرے ہی کردار میں جھول نظر آنا شروع ہوگیا۔” اس نے سر جھٹکتے طنزیہ نگاہوں سے غازان کو دیکھتے ہوئے کہا۔
“میں نے ایسا کچھ نہیں کہا، بس اتنا کہا ہے کہ یہ تم سے دور رہ کر بات کیا کرے مجھے اچھا نہیں لگتا مگر یہ جان بوجھ کر بات کو بڑھا رہا ہے۔” غازان نے اس کے بگڑتے تیور دیکھ کر اسے صفائی دی البتہ اس کی نظریں اس کے دائیں ہاتھ پر ٹکی تھیں جس کو وہ مسلسل انگوٹھے سے رگڑ رہی تھی۔ چہرے پر پھیلی غصے کی سرخی اور بے چینی سے صاف دکھائی دے رہا تھا کہ وہ ہاتھ کسی بھی وقت اس کے گال تک پہنچ سکتا ہے۔
“یو نو واٹ ! اس وقت اگر مجھے تمہیں دو تھپڑ لگانے سے کوئی چیز روک رہی ہے نا تو وہ میرے اور تمہارے درمیان قائم رشتہ ہے۔ چاہے جو بھی ہے مگر تم میرے شوہر ہو اور تم پر ہاتھ اٹھا کر میں گناہگار نہیں ہونا چاہتی۔” شعلے اگلتی آنکھوں سے دانت پر دانت جما کر درشتگی سے بولتی وہ ضبط کی انتہاؤں پر تھی۔ جواب میں غازان کے لب مسکراہٹ میں ڈھلے اور اگلے ہی لمحے وہ سر پیچھے کی طرف گرائے زور و شور سے ہنسنے میں مصروف ہوچکا تھا۔ سعد اور روشانے نے بے اختیار ایک دوسرے کو دیکھا۔ شام کے وقت بیچ سڑک پر وہ تینوں کھڑے آتے جاتے لوگوں کو خاصے مشکوک لگ رہے تھے۔

“او مائی گاڈ روشا! یو کانٹ امیجن مائی ہیپی نس۔ کتنی کیوٹ ہو تم۔ لو یو یار۔” اس نے متحیر سی کھڑی خود کو دیکھتی روشانے کے دونوں گال کھینچے۔ اس کے ہر ہر انداز سے چھلکتی خوشی سے لگ رہا تھا جیسے اسے ہفت اقلیم کی دولت مل گئی ہو۔ اس کی بات سمجھ کر سعد دانت پیس کر رہ گیا۔
“تم پاگل ہو؟” اس نے بے ساختہ پوچھا۔
“کر کے پوچھ رہی ہو؟” اس کے جتاتے لہجے پر وہ گہری سانس لے کر پیچھے ہٹی۔ ان تینوں کے درمیان ایک بار پھر خاموشی چھا گئی تھی۔ ایک ہاتھ کمر پر رکھے دوسرے سے پیشانی سہلاتی وہ ادھر سے ادھر ٹہلتی سعد کے پاس آ کر رکی۔
“باوجود اس کے کہ یہ تمہاری بہن کا شوہر ہے اور تم اس کی بہن کے ہونے والے شوہر ہو، کیا تم میرے بی ہاف پر اس کی مرمت کر سکتے ہو؟”
“خوشی سے ۔” وہ آستینیں چڑھاتا جارہانہ انداز میں غازان کی طرف بڑھا۔
