“آپ مصروف تو نہیں؟” عثمان نے معصومانہ انداز اختیار کیا تھا۔

“سر جی! میں مصروف ہوںٔی تب بھی آپ کو جواب دوں گی۔” مہروالنسا نے شاںٔستگی سے کہا۔

“میم! آپ کا شکریہ۔ آپ مجھے اپنا تفصیلی تعارف کرواںٔیں گی؟” عثمان نے عاجزانہ انداز سے پوچھا۔

“کتنا تفصیلی؟” مہروالنسا نے ہنستے ہوئے کہا۔

” پانچ ہزار جملوں کا تفصیلی تعارف۔” عثمان نے بھی قہقہ لگایا تھا۔

مہروالنسا اور عثمان نے ایک دوسرے کے متعلق سوال پوچھے۔ مہروالنسا نے عثمان کو اپنا مکمل تعارف کروایا اور عثمان کی اداسی کی وجہ جاننی چاہی۔ مہروالنسا کا اداسی جاننے کی وجہ عثمان کی فکر تھی جبکہ عثمان کو لگا کہ اسے جاننے کا تجسس ہو رہا ہے۔ کچھ دیر بات کرنے کے بعد عثمان انتظار کا کہہ کے آف لائن ہو گیا۔

رات کو عشاء کی نماز کے بعد مہروالنسا نے زوہیب سے کچھ دیر بات کی اور اس کے بعد عثمان کو مسیج کیا۔ رپلائی آنے تک اس نے اپنا بستر ٹھیک کیا اور سارے کام نپٹا کے عثمان سے بات کرنے لگی۔ وہ دونوں ایک دوسرے کو احتراماً میم اور سر کہہ کے مخاطب کر رہے تھے۔

“آپ کسی کو پسند کرتے ہیں؟” مہروالنسا نے سنجیدگی سے پوچھا۔

عثمان کچھ دیر خاموش رہا، پھر ساری بات کہہ ڈالی۔

“میں جس کو پسند کرتا ہوں، اس کا رشتہ کسی اور لڑکے سے ہو چکا ہے۔ اس کا ہونے والا شوہر میرا ہم نام، قد کاٹھ اور رنگت میں میری طرح ہے۔ وہ بھی میری طرح پراںٔیویٹ جاب کرتا ہے۔ ایک اور حیرت انگیز بات یہ ہے کہ اس کا نام حورالنساء ہے۔” عثمان نے نم آنکھوں سے بتایا اور آف لائن ہو گیا۔

عثمان کی بات سننے کے بعد مہروالنسا کو اس کی مزید فکر ہونے لگی۔ ہمدردی سے اس کا دل دعا کر رہا تھا؛ ” اے اللہ! عثمان اور حورالنسا کو نکاح کے پاک رشتے میں جوڑ دے.” وہ رات سوتے ہوئے عثمان کے بارے میں سوچنے لگی۔ وہ دل ہی دل میں خود سے سوال جواب کرنے لگی۔

“میں کیوں سر عثمان کو سوچ رہی ہوں؟ کیوں ان کی فکر کر رہی ہوں؟ کیا مجھے ان سے محبت ہو رہی ہے یا کوںٔی اور بات ہے؟” مہروالنسا حیرانگی سے بول رہی تھی۔

“نہیں۔۔۔۔۔بالکل نہیں۔۔۔۔۔مجھے ان سے محبت نہیں ہے لیکن ہاں! مجھے وہ اچھے لگتے ہیں اپنے اخلاق کی وجہ سے۔ ضروری تو نہیں کسی سے محبت ہو تبھی وہ اچھا لگے۔” مہروالنسا نے خود کو تسلی دی۔

مہروالنسا کو جب جب عثمان کا خیال آتا، وہ عثمان اور حورالنساء کے نکاح کی دعا خوش دلی سے کرتی۔
