۔ لوگوں سے ہٹ کر اسکی نظریں سجی سجائی دلہے کی گاڑی کے اطراف کھڑی بڑی بڑی سیاہ گاڑیوں پہ جم گئیں’ بلکہ گاڑیوں کے باہر گنز تھامے کھڑے نوجوانوں پر! حیرت زدہ سی وہ ڈرتے جھجھکتے آبگینہ کے گھر کے اندر داخل ہوئی تو وہاں الگ ہی سماں تھا۔ چھوٹے سے آنگن میں چند لوگ کھچا کھچ بھرے تھے۔ سرخ ساڑھی میں صوفیہ بیگم پھپھک پھپھک کے روتیں نوید جواری کا ہاتھ تھامے خراماں خراماں دروازے کی طرف ہی چلی آ رہی تھیں۔ ہونق سی امتل کو کچھ اور تو سمجھ نہ آیا سو گڑبڑا کر دروازے سے ہٹ کر دیوار کے ساتھ لگ کے کھڑی ہوگئی۔ اور پھر دیکھتے ہی دیکھتے صوفیہ بیگم نوید جواری کے ہمراہ گاڑی میں بیٹھ کے روانہ ہوگئیں۔ دیگر مہمان بھی آگے پیچھے ایک دوسرے کو دھکیلتے جلد از جلد گھر سے باہر نکلے تھے۔ لمحوں میں گھر سائیں سائیں کرنے لگا تو اسکی متحیر نظروں نے کمرے کے دروازے پہ ایستاده جہانداد چودھری کو دیکھا اور کرنٹ کھا کر سیدھی ہوئی۔ جہانداد نے بس ایک سرسری نظر اس پہ ڈالی تھی اور پھر پلٹ کر ایک نظر پیچھے دیکھا اور تیز قدموں سے چلتا سحر انگیز خوشبو پیچھے چھوڑتا گھر سے باہر نکل گیا۔ وہ اتنی دنگ تھی کہ پلکیں بھی نہ جھپک پائی۔ آبگینہ نے ہی آ کر دھم سے دروازہ بند کیا تو اسے بھی ہوش آیا’ لیکن ہوش میں بھی بےدھیانی تھی!

“یہ۔۔۔۔؟” خشک لبوں سے بس ایک لفظ پھسلا تھا، باقی بات آنکھوں نے کہی تھی۔

“سکون سے بیٹھو کمرے میں جا کر۔ میں بریانی نکال لاتی ہوں۔ ہائے کل سے کچھ کھایا نہ گیا۔ بھوک سے پیٹ میں مروڑ اٹھ رہے ہیں اور بریانی کی خوشبو سے رال ٹپکی جا رہی ہے۔” لہرا کر کہتی وہ عروسی لباس سنبھالتی چھن چھن کی خوشگوار آواز پیدا کرتی کچن کی طرف بڑھی تو حیرت کے سمندر میں غوطہ زن امتل کمرے میں جا کر اسی صوفے پر ٹک گئی جہاں کچھ دیر پہلے جہانداد چودھری براجمان تھا۔
